CRIF called to block the National Front

Immediately after the results of the first round, CRIF called to block the National Front.

Paris, December 10, 2015

Sunday was the first round of regional elections in France, the first electoral test since last month's Paris attacks, in which 130 people were killed.
Le Pen’s party, the FN, won 27, 96 % of the vote, followed by Mr Sarkozy's Republicans on 26,89% and President Francois Hollande's Socialists with 23,33 %. They put the FN ahead in at least six of 13 regions in mainland France: in the North (Nord Pas de Calais) ; in the South (PACA, the region of French Riviera, where there is an important Jewish community with cities like Marseille, Cannes and Nice; and Languedoc Roussillon Midi Pyrénées) ; in the center with the regions Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Centre-Val de Loire ; and in the East of France, Alsace Lorraine Champagne Ardenne, where there is also an important community with the city of Strasbourg.

The second round of the regional election will occur next Sunday and will decide which candidate to win the regions.

Immediately after the results of the first round, CRIF called to block the National Front.

CRIF called to vote massively next Sunday to block the National Front, as it is a xenophobic and Populist Party. “Do not let the Republic give way in face of threats!” urged CRIF.

In a press release, CRIF protests against inaccurate caricatures and perfidious accusations that Marine Le Pen did directly at CRIF this morning on the national radio station RTL.

CRIF had to repeat that the umbrella organization, born during the resistance, receives no subsidies from the state or local authorities.
