JJAC Congress in Paris

CRIF joined JJAC to inform policy makers on the issue of Jews from Arab countries in a concerted action in Paris on June 11 and 12, 2014. JJAC delegates from the United States, Canada, Great Britain and France were received at the Alliance Israelite Universelle to review archives for Jews from Arab countries. 

In early afternoon, the delegation was welcomed to the National Assembly by Claude Goasguen, Mayor of the 16th arrondissement and vice president of the friendship group France-Israel and Meyer Habib, Member of Parliament, representative of the French living in Southern Europe (including Israel) and former Vice-President of CRIF. On the evening CRIF and JJAC attended the inauguration UNESCO’s exhibition "the People, the Book, the Earth: 3500 years of relations between the Jewish people and the Holy Land" set up by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre.

On June 12, 2014, delegates met several personalities, including Mrs. Sparacino-Thiellay, Ambassador of Human Rights of France and Mr. Tristan Pradelles and Ms. Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO before participating the prestigious gala dinner of the Aladin Foundation.
