A Revision the Law of 1905 on the separation of Church and State?

The Jewish weekly “Actualité Juive” has questioned a number of eminent members of the community to find out what their position is. Thus, Roger Cukierman, President of CRIF, declared: “What is important is that, as with the members of all the other religions, Muslims should be enabled to freely exercise their right to worship and, above all, avoid them setting up places of worship in basements or garages.” As for whether this requires an overhaul of the 1905 law, the President of CRIF considers this to be “an issue for legal experts”, according to the weekly magazine.
