And the report shows that this anti-Semitism is expressing itself in increasingly violent ways, highlighting the fact that more than the threats it is violent anti-Semitic acts which have increased (134 in 2006, against 99 in 2005, or an increase of 35%). Moreover, the CNCDH is worried by “a latent xenophobic climate” which, though it does not appear in the statistics that merely convey the facts, nevertheless reveals “endemic problems relating to inequality and discrimination, which the measures implemented by the authorities in the aftermath of the urban violence in November 2005 have not as yet succeeded to curb”.
