During this informal meeting, they undertook a review of the major international problems - Near East, Iran, Union for the Mediterranean, peace prospects... - in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. Another topic discussed was the annual pilgrimage of Lag BaOmer to Jerba, and its ancient Ghriba synagogue, the fondness of Tunisian Jews for their country of origin, not to mention the recent discovery by archaeologist Mounir Fantar, in Northern Tunisia at Kelibia, the former Clipea, of a synagogue dating to the 5th century.
The President of CRIF was accompanied by Meyer Habib, Vice President, and Jean-Pierre Allali, a member of the Executive Board.
