CRIF’s Richard Prasquier to the President of the European Commission, Manuel Barroso: “To allow people to think that the EU is encouraging the anti-Semitic Polish radio station, Radio Maryja, would be a slap in the face for all democrats”

“To let people think that the European Union is encouraging a radio of this kind would be a slap in the face for all democrats, all those who are fighting anti-Semitism, as well as the Jewish community as a whole,” writes Richard Prasquier.

For the President of CRIF, this radio which is directed by Father Ryzdik, a Redemptorist priest, “has for many years been unbearably anti-Semitic, recalling the worst moments of a Polish anti-Semitic tradition that has unfortunately been very widespread. Many Jews have suffered from it, though today it is thankfully being opposed by a large part of the Polish population.”
