Even if the Ambassador is present every year at the CRIF dinner, Richard Prasquier expressed the wish that this contact might help the two parties to get to know each other better. During this warm exchange, which lasted one and a half hours, the three men undertook a general review of the political and social situation in India. They mainly spoke about Israel, where Ranjan Mathai was an ambassador for three years. CRIF raised the problem of the Iranian threat which represents a danger for the world.
They also spoke of the Durban 2 conference. For the Indian diplomat, this meeting presents obvious difficulties. As far as India is concerned, the participants at the conference are attacking the caste system in the name of Human Rights.
CRIF and Ranjan Mathai expressed the wish to meet soon for another meeting.
