He paid tribute to “one of the liveliest democracies in the world” and expressed his admiration for “Israel’s economic growth which is double that of France”. He praised the future Mediterranean Union “in which Israel must have its full place”.
Jean-Pierre Raffarin insisted on France’s “firmness” in the face of “Iran’s nuclear ambitions”. In his view, “we need to oblige Teheran to draw back”.
