Israel in the French Academy of Medicine: 1948-2008, 60 years of medical and scientific contributions

The opening ceremony was conducted by the Perpetual Secretary of the Academy, Professor Jean-Louis Binet and the Israeli Health Minister, Jacob Ben Izri, who, that evening, was a guest of the CRIF Commission of Political Studies, presided by Professor Raoul Ghozlan.

Dr Richard Prasquier, CRIF president, spoke of new perspectives in French-Israeli medical relations. Professor Raoul Ghozlan closed the meeting, speaking of the many links developed between France and Israel, such as the sponsorship of Cochin and Tel-Hashomer Hospitals by Simon Veil, when she was Health Minister, and the agreement between René Descartes Paris V and Tel Aviv Universities.
