Palestinian FM: France dropped peace process attempt

French Foreign Ministry denies claim, says Paris still intends to advance resolution at UN.

Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riad al-Malki claimed that France has dropped its attempt to restart the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians. According to Haaretz, Al-Malki told the Voice of Palestine radio station that "the French initiative to put forward a UN Security Council resolution based on the two-state solution and renewing peace talks is no longer topping the agenda of French leadership and they have withdrawn [from the idea]."
 
However, the French Foreign Ministry denied the claim and said it has no intention of giving up on its bid to advance the resolution.
 
"We haven't given up," a French Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement. "We will push for a UNSC resolution on Israel-Palestine as long as it gains a consensus that would allow it to be implemented"... Read more.
