Crif presents the main results of a survey carried out by IFOP on "Attitudes of French people towards Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict following the terrorist attacks of October 7". A number of key points emerge from the survey, including the support of a majority of French people for Israel's desire to eliminate Hamas. The poll also shows that the French fear the conflict could be imported into France.
The survey, ordered by Crif to IFOP, was published on October 28 by Le Figaro
, reveals that :
65% of French people support Israel's objective of eliminating Hamas
8% of French people consider acts committed by Hamas to be acts of resistance
72% believe that a similar attack could one day occur in France
69% of French people are not in favour of continuing pro-Palestinian demonstrations given the risk of unrest
18% of French people surveyed approve of Jean-Luc Mélenchon's (leader of the far left party La France Insoumise) attitude and stance
