ARAFAT BROUGHT DISASTER UPON HIS OWN PEOPLE, MUSICANT

Following Yasser Arafat's death near Paris last week, CRIF's Director General Haim Musicant said on Kol Israel, Israel's Public Radio, "Arafat will go down in History as the man who refused to make peace with Israel, who chose terrorism and violence, who brought disaster upon his own people and upon many Israeli families. He is the core reason why the Middle East is still a very troubled region and has not yet reached a peaceful agreement. Let us hope that Arafat's successors will definitely abandon Arafat's dream of destroying Israel and will chose instead the path of negotiation and peace with Israel."
