CRIF: 300 FRENCH JEWS ON A SUPPORT TOUR OF ISRAEL

A group of 300 members of the French Jewish Community went for a tour in support of Israel organized by CRIF, the French United Jewish Appeal, AUJF, and the main French Jewish charity, FSJU. Right after the outburst of the second Palestinian Intifada, the leaders of CRIF decided to demonstrate the French Jews' strong support and commitment to Israel and to its people simply by being there, by visiting the country and its leaders.

For the fifth time since September 2000, CRIF led the tour with its President Roger Cukierman, the Director General Haim Musicant, member of the Executive Yves Kamami and CRIF regional leaders from Strasbourg, Pierre Levy, from Toulouse, Arieh Ben Semoun, and from Bordeaux, Albert Roche; Régine Konckier, AUJF's Campaign President, came along with FSJU's Director General David Saada.

Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon meeting the 300 member strong French Jewish delegation said, "The French Jewish community is the most pugnacious one." Sharon praised the attitude of the French government in its struggle against anti-Semitism.
