In Marseille (South of France), CRIF, together with Muslim associations, called for a demonstration in support of the two French reporters taken hostage by the so-called "Islamic Army in Iraq".
CRIF expresses its emotion after the hostage taking of two French reporters working in Iraq and fully supports the efforts of the French government to secure their release. CRIF shares the wish of the French Muslim Council and of all the religious, secular and political representatives in France to see the two men freed.
CRIF's President Roger Cukierman signed an open letter highlighting that "Our best weapon against terrorism is our unfailing unity in times of crisis."
