CRIF IN UKRAINE

Claude-Gérard Marcus, member of CRIF's Executive Board, represented the organization at the Ukrainian Jewish Community Congress held in Kiev on May 18 and 19. The Community counts from 150,000 to 500,000 members, according to various criteria. Over two thousand delegates attended the Kiev Congress.

Addressing the Congress in Russian, Claude-Gérard Marcus forwarded a message from CRIF's President Cukierman, stressing the friendship of the French Jewish community and its concern about the common enemy of both communities, anti-Semitism.

In his report, Marcus noted that anti-Semitic books are openly on sale in the centre of Kiev, including translations of books by David Duke and Henry Ford.
