Roger Cukierman drew the attention of his hosts to the dangers of un-natural alliances with the extreme left. Reviewing the history of the Communist Party, Haïm Musicant also highlighted the limits of dialogue with the extreme left.
As for anti-Semitism, the communist leaders stressed that there was no doubt at all about the need to continually fight against this plague which clashes with human dignity.
Concerning Israel, the CRIF delegation stressed the extreme importance of the withdrawal from Gaza as major step toward peace that has given the world a better image of Israel, of its Prime Minister and of its army. The participants are agreed as to the need to encourage those who are working for peace. Pierre Dharéville, who insisted on the need to eradicate terrorism, also spoke of the agreement between the Communist Party and Shoah Memorial for the transfer of archives.
