During a short visit in Paris, Israel's Minister of Defence Shaul Mofaz asked to meet the CRIF. He told the Board of Directors he was optimistic following the decision to set up a government of national unity in Israel in charge of the pullout from Gaza. Mr Mofaz also praised the efforts of the newly elected President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmood Abbas to combat terrorism. "Israel will never endanger the security of its citizens," also said the Minister of Defence.
