The President of the CRIF was speaking at a dinner organized by the CRIF commission that is responsible for relations with elected officials, chaired by Bernard Ghenassia. He was responding to the latter’s invitation and that of two other members of his commission, Linda Uzan, a county councilor for the Val de Marne county, and Jean-Marc Boccara, an alderman for Charenton-Saint Maurice. Elected politicians from the two counties listened to the president of the CRIF as he spoke on the subject of “Jews and the Republic”, after which they engaged in a discussion with him on this issue.
Addressing Roger Cukierman, who had spoken of the dialogue undertaken by the CRIF with civil society, the politicians encouraged him to multiply this type of meeting “so that people may become aware of what you are doing”.
The CRIF’s dinner at the Senate had been sponsored by Bernard Angels, senator for the Val d’Oise county, and Christian Cambon, senator for the Val de Marne county. Eric Raoult, vice-President of the National Assembly, Pierre Lellouche, MP for Paris and Dominique Bertinotti, mayor of the 4th District of Paris, took part in the evening’s events, together with Raoul Ghozlan, member of the CRIF’s Executive Board, Haïm Musicant, Director General and Yves Kamami, member of the Steering Committee.
