Boyon: “I shall be vigilant!” »

Michel Boyon is very familiar with the audio-visual world. He was at one time cabinet chief for François Léotard, who was minister of culture and communication. He had already been in contact with CRIF as the closest member of staff of Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin, whose cabinet he led from 2003 to 2005. It was Mr. Boyon who had to deal with the Al Manar case, the Lebanese satellite television network that was broadcasting anti-Semitic programs. Following a campaign led by CRIF, the French authorities eventually managed to obtain the ban of Al Manar broadcasts to Europe.

Since taking up his post, Michel Boyon and the CSA have sanctioned two anti-Semitic “faux pas” on the radio.
