CRIF engages in the fight against the Darfur genocide

Raising international public awareness about the genocide in Darfur includes “Darfur marches”. One of these protest marches has just happened in Paris. Several hundred people marched behind a truck fitted with a loudspeaker calling on the population not to remain indifferent to the fate of the hundreds of thousands of massacred Darfuris and the millions displaced in this martyr province of Sudan.

Dozens of young activists from the Hachomer Hatzair movement, a member of CRIF, were involved in getting people to sign a petition on behalf of Darfur.

As the Paris Community Centre was not big enough to contain all those who came for information on Darfur, the information meeting was held at the town hall of Paris’s fifth precinct.

The speakers called on the participants to react urgently to a genocide that is taking place in the face of a largely indifferent world.
