According the CRIF president: «The Israeli Prime Minister has been instrumental in Israeli’s survival. He has overcome terrorism, secured the trust of the Israeli people and gained credibility among Palestinian leaders».
«He, more than others, has been able to bring peace since he could ask Israelis to make sacrifices because he enjoyed their respect. He was feared by his opponents who knew that he did what he said, such as the disengagement from Gaza».
According to Roger Cukierman, democracy in Israel will continue to advance. Israelis, he said, are today convinced of the need to create a Palestinian State alongside Israel. However, uncertainties remain on among both Israelis and Palestinians. Unfortunately, the dialogue between both sides is stalling».
«New leaders will have to emerge on both sides to carry forward the work undertaken until now», concluded the CRIF official
