Among the speakers at the inaugural ceremony were H.E. Jean-Michel Casa, French Ambassador to Israel, and Jean-Pierre Allali, representing CRIF.
Jean-Michel Case and Jean-Piere Allali, in their speeches focused particularly on Israel’s position with regard to the International Francophone Organisation. Jean-Pierre Allali insisted strongly on the unfairness of the situation in which the Hebrew State finds itself [it is refused admittance], with some 20% of its population more or less speaking French, while countries recently admitted to the IFO, such as Albania or Macedonia, are far from this figure. He reminded the audience that the President of CRIF has on repeated occasions pleaded with the French President and the Prime Minister as well as numerous personalities, including IFO General Secretary Abdou Diouf.
