President Chirac extended his best wishes to Israel and his hopes for peace in the new chapter now being written.
Jacques Chirac underlined the importance given by France to its friendly and trustful relationship with Israel and he expressed the wish that these relations – that had already been developed on the occasion of the recent visit to Paris by Prime Minister Sharon – might pursue that dynamic.
