While recognising that Israel’s democratically elected government is sovereign and sole authorised to take the decisions it judges useful for peace in the Near East, CRIF considers that Jerusalem, Israel’s historic capital, must remain a single and undivided entity.
CRIF draws attention to the fact that it is only since the reunification of Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty in 1967 that the faithful of all three monotheistic religions are able to worship at their holy sites in full freedom.
