Junior Minister Lellouche: Jerusalem must be the capital of two States

The meeting focused on three main topics: the situation in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region, Turkey, and the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The Minister advised Israel to help strengthen the Palestinian Authority as the only means for it to deal with Hamas. He called for all construction work to stop, and indicated that Jerusalem had to be the capital of two States.

The CRIF delegation insisted on the significance of Jerusalem for Jews and on the economic progress in Judea and Samaria, which has been facilitated by the improvements in communication brought about by the Israeli government. CRIF reiterated the importance of recognising Israel as the State of the Jewish people.
