The French minute political party blamed Cukierman for having said at the Annual Crif Event in January 2003 that he was "getting the chills from the brown-green-red alliance". (Brown, green, red was alluding to neo-Nazi, extreme-left wing and environmentalist groups who were meeting on common grounds when it came to blame Israel and who were refusing to condemn some blatantly anti-Semitic attitudes of their affiliates).
The Paris Court stated that Roger Cukierman's terms "did not go beyond the authorized limits of a controversy". He was acquitted, as well as CRIF's Director General Haim Musicant. The latter was sued for having published the text of Cukierman's speech.
