“We have entered a phase of rebuilding the friendship between France and Israel,” said the MP, who may succeed Rudy Salles as chair of the France-Israel Friendship Group at the French National Assembly.
Claude Goasguen reminded his audience that Nicolas Sarkozy, who for his first trip abroad as president of the UMP party in 2005 had gone to Israel, had never compromised on the issue of Israel’s security. He also expressed his satisfaction for “the firm attitude” adopted by France on Iran.
