Haïm Musicant said that when they discussed the Middle East and Iran, the meeting was "friendly and open", and that the Ambassador "accepted the invitation to speak at a meeting of the Steering Committee in the near future".
Concerning Iran, the Ambassador "gave the impression that he was aware of the problem and of the danger that the Iranian position represents" and that "he had understood the message that we wanted to put across to him". For Haïm Musicant, "the feeling of having been heard by the diplomat is a good start". Lastly, concerning relations between Israel and Egypt, the Director General of the CRIF indicated that the concern of the Jewish community in France "is that France and Egypt, each from its own position, should encourage the building of peace in the Middle East" and reminded readers that the CRIF's role "is not to act as a messenger between Israel and Egypt".
