Prasquier accompanies Sarkozy on a visit to the US

According to David Martinon, spokesperson for the French President, “the object of this visit (was) to firmly establish the renewal of the ties between France and the United States, after the crisis of 2003, and to send a message to the American people”. In addition to George Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Nicolas Sarkozy met Adrian Fenty, Mayor of Washington.

The French President received the “Light Unto The Nation” prize, which was given to him by Richard Sideman and David Harris, respectively President and Executive Director of the American Jewish Committee.

Several ministers accompanied Nicolas Sarkozy, including Bernard Kouchner, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Rachida Dati, Minister of Justice, and Rama Yade, Junior Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs and Human Rights.
