Returning from Egypt, the president of the Senate, Gérard Larcher, told Richard Prasquier of the worry he had felt in that country where the Muslim Brotherhood has a strong hold.
The president of CRIF emphasised that the Muslim Brotherhood is “the parent organisation of Hamas”. In his opinion, the struggle against radical Islamism does not concern the Jews alone but the whole free world.
The principle of laïcité (secularism with the separation of church and state) was also discussed at this meeting. For Richard Prasquier, the 1905 law instituting the separation of church and state must not be modified.
