Meeting under the Succah with Haim Nisenbaum and Rabbi Azimov, leading figures of the Lubavitch in France, the three men discussed the issues related to the Loubavitch movement. They also raised the issue of day nurseries. At a meeting of the City of Paris Municipal Council last September, the Greens and a number of Socialist elected representatives expressed their opposition to the subsidies granted to the non-profit day nurseries belonging to the Lubavitch movement. Haim Nisenbaum indicated that the grant in question concerned all nurseries run by faith based organisations and not only the Lubavitch nurseries. “There is a lack of understanding of what the Lubavitch movement really is. This is why we wish to make contact with these local politicians to discuss these issues with them and make ourselves better known,” concluded Haim Nisenbaum.
