The perpetrator of the 1980 anti-Semitic terrorist attack in Paris identified

International letters rogatory were delivered last September to the investigating departments (DST and Crime Squad) for information about his time in the United States.

The suspect, now aged 55, is of Palestinian origin, and has dual Lebanese and Canadian nationality. Twenty-seven years ago, he was an activist in a Palestinian terrorist group that started in 1970, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - Special Operations (PFLP-SO) hostile to Yasser Arafat. In September-October 1980, he made an explosive device that was placed a few meters from the Union libérale israélite, a Reformed Synagogue.
