On Sunday morning the Presidents of all major Jewish organizations met with President Hollande at Elysee Palace. Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Ministor of Interior Bernard Cazeneuve and Justice Minister Christiane Taubira attended the meeting.
After the meeting, Roger Cukierman, President of CRIF, the community's umbrella group said that Jewish schools and synagogues in France have been promised extra protection, by the army as necessary, after killings by Islamic militants in Paris.
"We expressed our sadness and our wrath, we also have set out a number of urgent measures to take", CRIF President Roger Cukierman said.
"They told us that all schools and all synagogues will be protected in measures that, if necessary, extend beyond the police to the army."
He also called for limits on hate speech and more control on suspected jihadists, especially in prison.
