#BringThemHomeNow - Every Friday, 'Mothers of Hope' gather in Paris to demand the release of hostages

Since November 17, 2023, 'Mothers of Hope' have been meeting every Friday Place du Trocadéro in Paris. There remain 134 children, women and men held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. We are waiting for many of you to join us to demand the release of all the hostages.

Crif - Solidarity with Israel, hit by attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran

From Saturday April 13 to Sunday April 14, 2024, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles against the State of Israel. This is the first direct attack carried out by Iran against Israeli territory. Crif shares its full solidarity with Israel.

Crif - Crif joined the French delegation at the OSCE Conference on antisemitism, in Malta

April 8th and 9th, Crif was invited by the Maltese Presidency of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OCSE), and joined French Minister Aurore Bergé for these interviews during the OSCE conference on antisemitism in member countries, in Malta.

Crif - #NYC2024: Crif participates in the French ministerial delegation to the UN CSW

The UN Commission on the Status of Women – CSW was held in New York from March 11 to 22, 2024. Crif was part of the French delegation led by Minister Aurore Bergé and was able to attend the various events organized by Member States and civil society organisations.

Crif - Crif participates in the side event of the World Jewish Congress at the UN Human Rights Council

On March 19, 2024, the World Jewish Congress (WJC) organized a side event on the sidelines of the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Former French Prime Minister Manuel Valls was the guest of honor on this panel. Crif was also invited to participate.

Crif - J7 in Paris: Crif welcomes representatives of the seven largest Jewish communities in the world

Under the leadership of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the world's seven major Jewish organizations formed the J7, a working group against antisemitism. In December, the group met in person for the first time, in Paris.

CRIF joined JJAC to inform policy makers on the issue of Jews from Arab countries in a concerted action in Paris on June 11 and 12, 2014. JJAC delegates from the United States, Canada, Great Britain and France were received at the Alliance Israelite Universelle to review archives for Jews from Arab countries.

Minister of Foreign affairs and Development Laurent Fabius declared "I condemn the kidnapping of three young Israelis in the West Bank and shares the concerns of families and Israeli authorities. I call for their immediate release. All efforts must converge towards this goal. France is particularly concerned about the increasing violence during the recent days in the West Bank and Gaza. 

UNESCO Director-General calls for the protection of all religious heritage in Syria, after the destruction of historical synagogue in Damascus

The UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova, has learnt with dismay of the destruction of the historical synagogue of Eliyahu Hanabi in Damascus.

“The destruction of the oldest synagogue in Syria is a new blow against its religious and cultural heritage, which has already suffered tremendous damage.

Four people murdered after shooting at Jewish Museum in Brussels, Belgium. Two of the four victims confirmed to be Israelis. Two Jews assaulted in front of synagogue in Paris.

In response, David Koschitzky, Chair of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), issued the following statement: “The Jewish community of Canada is deeply saddened and appalled by the senseless loss of life in Brussels yesterday afternoon.
