Following yesterday's adoption of the first law of Israel's judicial reform bill, Crif regrets that no compromise agreement has been reached and is concerned about the division this adoption is creating within Israeli society and the Jewish world.

Since the beginning of the crisis that shook Israel, Crif has supported all initiatives aimed at finding a compromise, particularly the approach initiated by President Itzhak Herzog.

Crif reiterates its profound attachment to the Jewish and democratic character of the State of Israel and Israel's place among the great liberal democracies.

Faced with a very worrying situation that goes far beyond mere political issues, Crif calls on the parties to resume dialogue as soon as possible to find a consensus solution that respects the founding democratic principles of the State of Israel.
